If you pay NHS charges, instead of paying a proportion of the cost of your treatment, you will pay one of four fixed charges relating to the type of care and treatment you require. The charge bands are given below.
NHS dental care is still free to children under 18, or under 19 in full-time education, as well as pregnant women, new mothers and people on certain state benefits. Please ask us for further details on possible exemptions.

Information on the cost of NHS dental care or a written quotation for private care is available from reception after your consultation. You may pay for your dental care by cash, cheque, credit or debit card. Please note that a failed cheque would incur a £7.50 charge. Full payment must be made by the time your treatment is complete.
At the end of your course of treatment, your dentist will advise you of when you will need to be seen again. As an NHS practice, we now follow guidelines issued by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) on how often patients need to be seen by their dentist. This is based on an individual’s oral health needs. The Department of Health wishes NHS resources to be allocated to those who need it most. You can of course visit your dentist more often privately if you prefer to talk to your dentist more regularly about your oral health needs. You may also have a regular private oral hygiene visit.
In an emergency, practice patients are entitled to advice and necessary treatment. Urgent/emergency treatment is defined as treatment required where there is severe pain or the risk of oral health significantly deteriorating. If you feel that you may need to be seen by your dentist before your next appointment, telephone the practice on 01424 884440, if possible leaving a message before 8.00 am.
During practice hours, you should explain the nature of the emergency to the receptionist who will arrange an appropriate appointment. Out-of-hours, you should telephone: 01424 884440 and follow the instructions given in the recorded message.
